The concept of a university commons certainly has changed over the years. The Lindenwood University Commons building, scheduled to open this spring, is proof of that. When it opens the LU Commons will not just feature a cafeteria and dining area. The 120,000-square-foot facility will include a full fitness center, a suspended jogging track, three basketball courts, an indoor soccer field complete with dashboards, and a fitness center filled with various pieces of workout equipment.

Like much of the rest of Lindenwood University, the school's business program is growing. To accommodate that growth the university has announced plans for an $8.5 million project to renovate and expand Harmon Hall on its St. Charles campus. Once that work is finished, the hall will become the home of Lindenwood's School of Business and Entrepreneurship. The building has housed the Fine Arts Department since 1969, but that department is moving to the university's new Center for Fine Arts and Performing Arts.
