Sen. Barack Obama is striking a delicate balance to capture black voters but avoid becoming the stereotype that has sunk past black hopefuls for the White House. The Illinois Democrat is running ads in South Carolina to shore up support among black voters and told a black audience Friday his election would create a "transformation" of U.S. race relations. However, political analysts and prominent black leaders observing the 2008 presidential race say Mr. Obama, who trails Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton among blacks, has not locked up the community's vote.

McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants Inc. and McCormick & Schmick Restaurant Corp. are seeking a court order that would stop the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission from broadcasting radio ads seeking more claimants in a race-discrimination claim against the restaurant chain's Baltimore operations. The EEOC filed suit in U.S. District Court in Baltimore in April 2008, alleging the restaurants were discriminating against black applicants and employees at its Inner Harbor restaurants. What's worse is that the black community never gets any good news about black Republicans. They don't know that there are some great black commentators like Star Parker, Larry Oder, Harry R. Jackson Jr., Ken Blackwell, Michael Steele, Angela McGlowan, Thomas Sowell, Walter E. Williams, Armstrong Williams, etc. If you want to hear black conservatives on black radio, for the most part you can't. Radio hosts like Michael Baisden, Warren Ballentine, Tom Joyner, etc. are anti-conservatives. According to The New York Times, black radio is the Liberal Left's answer to Rush Limbaugh. most of the black community doesn't know it because the black media won't even talk about them. And then they complain when Republican candidates won't buy ads from them.
