Crawford Lee Binns, the son of Sandy and Roger Bales, of Topeka, and George and Beverly Binns, of West Chester, Pa., will receive the Eagle Scout Award in a Court of Honor ceremony at 1:30 p.m. today. The ceremony and reception will be at Town & Country Christian Church, 4925 S.W. 29th. Binns began Scouting as a Tiger Cub in 1993 with Cub Scout Park 14, sponsored by McClure Elementary School. He completed the requirement for all ranks and earned the Arrow of Light Award. In 1998, he joined Boy Scout Troop 7 at First Christian Church.

Highland Ridge Rehab Center received a visit this past week from one of its successful rehabilitation graduates, Ren Hollandsworth. The staff considers Hollandsworth a role model because he reached his functional goals upon completion of his rehabilitation program, according to a news release from the center. Hollandsworth has made several trips back to the facility to show his appreciation to the staff and to visit with the residents he befriended. He recently retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation and continues to be active in the community and to spend time with his family and friends.
