People know very little about the difference among groups of women and their businesses. In their 1992 article, the authors addressed the issue that advancement for women has been for white women and not women of color. Their emerging research has arisen out of the need to examine the basic assumptions underlying the dominant research paradigm. In their recent article, they propose an alternative paradigm -- the multicultural lens -- through which entrepreneurial research should be conducted. This multicultural lens takes into account the integration of class, socioeconomic, racial, and ethnic issues.
