Initial jubilation over the impending prisoner-swap deal between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas began to dim Wednesday as people on both sides expressed concerns that their leaders may have given away too much at the negotiating table.
While many Palestinians celebrated the expected release of 1,027 prisoners from Israeli jails, some were disappointed that the list did not include high-profile leaders such as Marwan Barghouti and Ahmed Saadat, after Hamas officials had indicated they would be included. In this Article, I closely parse the economic studies to arrive at a more nuanced answer that highlights factors determining the ideal market structure for innovation. I show that both competition and size play a role in pharmaceutical innovat...

Sen. Barack Obama's recent efforts to woo American Jewish voters by staking out pro-Israeli positions seem to have fallen on deaf ears in the Jewish state, according to a poll published Friday.
Asked to name their preference to become the next president, a sample of 500 Israeli Jews favored presumptive Republican nominee, Sen. John McCain, over the Illinois Democrat by a 36 percent to 27 percent advantage.
