World-traveling Dubuque native Troy Henkels will present a program about his motorcycle trip on Canada's Trans-Labrador Highway to Goose Bay, Newfoundland, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, in the Aigler Auditorium at Carnegie-Stout Public Library.
When not on an expedition, Henkels lives in Eagle River, Alaska, and works as a communications technician. A 1985 graduate of Wahlert Catholic High School, he has a bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Northern Iowa. He is a mountaineer, ice climber, paraglider, mountain biker, kite boarder, musician, photographer and journalist. Troy Henkels, a native Dubuquer and world explorer, will discuss his expedition to Antarctica at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, at the Carnegie-Stout Public Library in the third-floor auditorium.
Henkels recently was a cameraman on the "In the Wake of the Belgica" expedition, which documented a historical sailing expedition to Antarctica 110 years ago.
