Several local groups are getting in the Christmas spirit with holiday house tours. Tours throughout Western Pennsylvania begin Saturday and run into December. If you're looking for some decorating ideas or just want to view some sparkling settings, get ready to tour.
Academy Hill Historic District: The Greensburg historic area's Holiday Tour of Homes will be from 11:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Dec. 4. For $15, visitors get an escorted tour of five homes. A tea at a Victorian cottage or manor can be added to the tour for $10 more. HAVANA - Cuba legalized the sale and purchase of automobiles for all citizens on Wednesday, another major step in the communist run island's economic transformation and one Cubans have demanded for decades.
The government announced the move in April, but sales were on hold until it was published into law in the Official Gazette.

REDLANDS - Work is scheduled to begin this weekend to repair failing and inadequate brick street intersections that were installed downtown last summer.
All of the brick intersections must be redone at the contractor's expense because the bricks do not meet quality standards specified in the city's contract and because portions of those intersections are falling apart, according to city spokesman Carl Baker.

LONG BEACH - After a decade of guiding Long Beach's transformation into a more bicycle-friendly community, the city's Bicycle Master Plan is getting a tune up.
City officials are updating the plan with new goals and projects and are seeking the public's input. Beginning Saturday, nine community workshops will be held through March.
