Penn Township commissioners awarded a contract for work related to the road-paving schedule to Base Construction Technologies Inc., which has an office in Monroeville, at a cost of $221,494.
Commissioners approved the contract on Wednesday, one month after a lone bid for the project was rejected in hopes for a lower price. At their June 6 meeting, commissioners turned down a $294,226 bid from Mt. Carmel Stabilization Group of Murrysville.

Three companies, including two from Oklahoma, are splitting a $43.5 million contract from the U.S. Air Force for information technology equipment and support for its Aeronautical Systems Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.
The two state companies are Tulsa-based Solutions Through Innovative Technologies Inc. and Oklahoma City-based Consulting Services Inc. The third company is Array Information Technology Inc. of Greenbelt, Md.
