LOGAN -- The Utah State University men's basketball team held its annual postseason banquet Tuesday, honoring the 2010-11 team that won its fourth-straight Western Athletic Conference regular-season championship and played in the school's 20th NCAA Tournament all- time, including its eighth in the last 12 years.
Along with handing out individual awards, a highlight video recapping the year was shown.

NORWAYNE DISTRICT -- On March 24, Norwayne FFA hosted its annual banquet to honor members for accomplishments throughout the year. The evening began with a time of reflection over the past year, with a chapter slide show and guests mingling over a dinner prepared by the FFA alumni.
The Star Greenhand Award was given Alex Miller, a Greenhand member who helped out whenever needed and went above and beyond the requirements. Allison Mangun received the Star Chapter award for her service and dedication to the FFA. Star Senior went to Nick Miller for his time and effort put into the FFA program.

The 100 Club of Anne Arundel County will host its 11th annual Public Safety Recognition banquet from 6 to 9 p.m. May 2 at Michael's Eighth Avenue, 7220 Greyburn Drive.
The guest speaker will be Baltimore City Police Commissioner Frederick Bealefeld. The program will include the fallen heroes honor roll and the awarding of the Public Safety Unsung Hero award, the Al Brandt Countywide Unsung Hero award and the Duke S. Aaron III scholarship.

NEW YORK, Sept. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Jewish civil rights group Shurat HaDin - Israel Law Center has sent a warning letter to Columbia University President Lee Bollinger advising him that Columbia's plan to host a banquet for visiting Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad runs afoul of U.S. anti-terror laws and will subject the university and its officials to both criminal prosecution and civil liability to victims of Iranian-sponsored terrorism in Israel or elsewhere. As president of the Evansville Chapter of the NAACP, the Rev. Gerald Arnold finds it pretty remarkable that former Indiana University basketball star Quinn Buckner will be speaking to the group's annual Freedom Fund Banquet tonight in the Calbert Cheaney Community, Recreation and Education Center, named for another former IU great who funded the facility's construction.
Buckner, though, doesn't find that surprising at all. He believes athletes, both former and present, give more of themselves than a lot of people might realize.

The West Holmes FFA banquet was held April 21 in the high school gym. Opening ceremonies and introductions were followed by a member slide show as well as a year-in-review slide show.

Marshall University's Alumni Association will host the 74th annual Alumni Awards Banquet Saturday, April 9, on the Huntington campus.
One distinguished alumnus, four other outstanding alumni and one distinguished faculty member will be among those honored at events April 8-9. Alumni awards will be given to James L. Farley of Cincinnati, Ohio; Rick Slater of Charleston; Christopher Sizemore of St. Albans; the Rev. Samuel Moore of Huntington; Dr. Caroline A. Perkins of Huntington; and posthumously to Dr. Roscoe Hale Jr. of Huntington.

The Lauderdale Chamber/ECD held its annual membership banquet April 29 at Rolling Hills Country Club. In light of the chamber turning 50 this year, the banquet was moved from a weeknight to a Friday night celebration, with entertainment provided by Magi. T his year's banquet had a sport theme, "Teamwork is the key to Success." Guests of honor at this year's banquet were Ramon Foster with the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers and Renardo Foster with the St. Louis Rams.

Wedding couples adding an extra zing to their special day contracted for the fireworks Aug. 20, and Sept. 4. at the Avanti Mansion, a banquet facility on South Park Avenue.
