A bank's lawsuit against a beleaguered Bellington Realty affiliate ended with a $970,000 summary judgment and the proceeds from the foreclosure sales of six properties going to the bank.
The lawsuit, whose initial plaintiff was Champion Bank, was one of the more than a dozen filed since early 2009 by banks in St. Louis County Circuit Court against the affiliate, Eighteen Investments. Champion folded last year. Liberty-based BankLiberty, which took over Champion's assets and deposits, also assumed its role in the lawsuit.
