In an interview, Chris Curtin, president and CEO of Bankers Advocate Group, talked about himself, his company, and exit strategy. Curtin said he grew up in Dalton, GA. He had a degree in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech. His dad was an entrepreneur in rock and chemical companies, along with some partners. He grew up around the carpet industry and chemicals and factoring. Curtin said Bankers Advocate Group is the third company he has owned. First, he owned a manufacturing plant for six years -- a cultured marble plant in Orlando, FL. He said Bankers Advocate do exit strategies -- they help people get their businesses ready to sell. Insurance markets have changed radically and deeply in the last 20 years. Deregulation, globalization of insurance institutions, intensified competition, electronic commerce, bancassurance, and the emergence of new risks are among the challenges faced by insurance markets.
