A Saga Hibachi Steakhouse & Sushi Bar will open in about a month on the upper level of South Hillls Village.
Saga, with locations in Monroeville, Robinson and Cranberry, will occupy the rear section of the former Bailey Banks & Biddle jewelry store near the Macy's end of the mall in Bethel Park. The restaurant will have a dozen hibachi tables where food will be cooked for diners, plus a sushi bar and dining area, a bar and outdoor seating.

Jewelry retailer Finlay Enterprises Inc., which owns the Bailey Banks & Biddle chain and operates jewelry departments in 77 Bon-Ton Stores Inc. locations, has filed for bankruptcy.
Finlay operates three Bailey Banks & Biddle stores in the Pittsburgh area, including one at One Mellon Center, Downtown, at Ross Park Mall and in South Hills Village. The entire chain totals 67 locations nationwide. The fate of those stores is unclear.

Boston Store, Macy's and other department store chains around the country are losing their fine jewelry departments because the vendor is pulling out.
The departments have been operated for years by Finlay Enterprises under a lease with the department stores. Finlay, based in New York, also operates stores under the names Bailey Banks & Biddle; Carlyle; and Congress.

Section 363(b) of the Bankruptcy Code authorizes a Chapter 11 debtor to use, sell or lease property outside the ordinary course of business only after a notice and a hearing before the Bankruptcy Court. When facing the possibility of a 363 sale, secured lenders should be mindful of any anticipated administrative costs, "cure costs", costs to obtain consents to assignments, and the continuing "melt" of the debtor's business.
