Sleet, rain, snow and ice-encased Metro train rails prevented government and other workers from getting to their jobs on time yesterday morning, but motorists had little problem on D.C. streets, which had been plowed and de-iced. Like many others, I've been amazed by the athletic feats on display at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Shaun White and other snowboard athletes have put on quite a show. Cypress Mountain has been so warm that Canadian officials have had to truck in snow to preserve the venue.
The Beavercreek City Council is being ridiculous. On Monday, it put off deciding -- for a second time -- whether to allow the Greater Dayton RTA to erect three bus stops near the Fairfield Commons mall. The vote was 7-0, though council member Julie Vann suggested that she supports allowing RTA to extend its service to Beaver-creek.
