Graduating senior members of the Assisteens, the teen auxiliary of the Assistance League of Redlands, were honored recently at the annual Medallion Dinner, held at Cope Middle School. The "Ooh-La-La" Paris- themed dinner, attended by 200 Assisteens and guests, also included presentation of trophies and awards, installation of board members and welcoming of new members. Greg Abt, of ABTsolutely Gourmet catered a French-inspired dinner.
HASBROUCK HEIGHTS -- Over the years, Pilot's Log, the newspaper at Hasbrouck Heights High School, has won numerous awards and trophies for its newsy stories, thought-provoking editorials and crafty layout. That trend continued last weekend when the student newspaper won a Pacemaker Award. Pilot's Log was one of 20 winners of the prestigious contest, considered the highest national honor in journalism on the high school level, school officials said.
