The search committee of the Jacksonville Aviation Authority last week whittled a list of eight candidates who had been interviewed -- that had included Ahmad -- to two for the job of executive director/ chief executive officer of Jacksonville's four-airport system.

DAYTON -- The city has hired a management consulting firm to do a search for an aviation director to succeed Iftikhar Ahmad, who oversaw new construction to modernize Dayton International Airport before leaving in May to accept a similar job in New Orleans.
The City Commission on Wednesday, Aug. 11, approved the hiring of the Mercer Group Inc., the same firm which led the search that brought Ahmad to Dayton in 2006.
