Vice Chairman Joseph Buckelew, Goldberg's predecessor, will resume his former role at least temporarily. Buckelew is the only current board member appointed by a Republican governor.

The city's inspector general is incorrect in saying that the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority should handle the redevelopment of the Morris F.X. Jeff Municipal Auditorium, NORA's chairman, Jim Singleton, said today.
In a letter letter sent to Mayor Ray Nagin Tuesday, Inspector General Ed Quatrevaux said the project should not be awarded using a professional services contract. The project should instead be awarded in a development contract, because it involves major design, construction, facility operation and long-term financial arrangements - the type of project normally undertaken by the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority, the letter says.
