  • BANGOR A policemans head bobbed ever so slightly to the beat vibrating in his chest, and through each person in the audience. Sunlight crept up and away as hip-hop group Atmosphere took the stage on the Bangor Waterfront for the KahBang Festival on Friday evening. MC Slug had the crowd jumping and swaying their arms overhead with his clever rhymes and the melodies of a live band. Atmosphere was followed by headliners Grace Potter and the Nocturnals and Lupe Fiasco, all three bringing a unique flavor of music to KahBangs main stage.

  • Band establishes skills for life As a student in the band program for five years, its upsetting to hear that there are school district proposals for pulling the plug. Band isnt just an atmosphere that teaches children how to play a musical instrument. As a person who experienced band firsthand, Ive seen the various benefits of the program. Its an environment where you learn teamwork, coordination, memorization, and so much more. You make friends for life and learn how to work together with not just your section, but the rest of the band.
