At the Drive-In, of El Paso Tx., turned the main Coachella stage into a monster with its loud and heavy sound along with charismaticsinger Cedric Bixler-Zavala, who at one point was caught on camera spitting on the very camera filming the performance.

Several readers responded to a recent question posed by Barbara Adams of Wooster. After mentioning the White Hut Drive-in, Adams asked if anyone remembered the name of the long-time employee who "seemed to be the only carhop" at the local eatery.

Good morning, Sunshine. Pretty sure I saw you at the drive-in last weekend. You were rolling around in the back seat, steaming up the windows like a teenager. Good for you, Potsie. And good luck getting those shoe prints off the ceiling. You know, Armor All can't wash off shame.
So, I'm at the drive-in, enjoying a twin bill and behaving like a responsible movie-goer. And the whole time, there's this weird family running around taking pictures. I mean, they were taking pictures of everything. Screen, snack bar, gigantic tub of popcorn that cost more than their minivan, urinals crusted with grime dating back to the original "Porky's," etc.

Ironically, [Larry Blamire]'s dedication to faithfully recreating the poorly paced flat vibe of the classic films means that his own work suffers the same pitfalls. (There was a reason people necked at the drive-in, watched movies on the late-late show with a bong handy, and invented Mystery Science Theater.) And while Blamire and his cast are to be commended for playing it straight, such a rigorous approach does mean long stretches of stiff acting. Particularly through its middle, Lost Skeleton feels almost as if you're watching an experimental actors' exercise -- "portray the dumb sheriff, badly." Once the ribbing is noted, repetitions of the jokes grow stale.
