Woodbury-based Research Frontiers continued its upward climb in the business world this week as its licensee, SmartGlass International, landed a contract to supply the Associated Press' London television studios with its patented glass technology. SmartGlass uses Research Frontiers' light-control technology to retrofit existing windows and skylights with ones that allow for manual control of how much light and heat enters via the glass. Five studios in London owned by the Associated Press will be retrofit to incorporate the technology.
YONGBYON, North Korea - North Korea destroyed the most visible symbol of its nuclear weapons program today, blasting apart the cooling tower at its main atomic reactor in a sign of its commitment to stop making plutonium for atomic bombs. Latest to contribute to the frightening liturgy of television- watching woes is Otago University which has just completed research showing too much television as a child has long-lasting, detrimental effects on health as an adult.
