Anthony and Nancy Markello - 55 years
Dr. and Mrs. Anthony Markello of East Aurora celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary with family at Roycroft Inn. The couple's son, Jeffrey Markello, Aurora Town justice, presided over their renewal of marriage vows. Mr. Markello and Nancy Hammond were married Oct. 29, 1955, in First Congregational Church, North Collins. He continues to work part time as an associate medical director for Independent Health and serves on the boards of several professional organizations; she is a retired nurse. The couple has three children, six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Catholic Health Primary Care Services and Kenmore Mercy Hospital welcomed Dr. Brenda L. Perez, to the Williamsville Primary Care Center. A Buffalo native, Perez is board-certified in family medicine. She received her medical degree from the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and her MBA from the UB School of Management. She completed her residency in family and general practice at St. Joseph Hospital Health Center. Also, Perez was named associate medical director for Catholic Health Primary Care Services.

MADISON, Wis. - State prison officials have agreed to meet new health care standards at Wisconsin's largest women's prison and pay nearly $1 million to resolve a federal lawsuit.
The settlement calls for Taycheedah Correctional Institution to attain medical accreditation, hire a new associate medical director and abide by a list of new standards.
