AIKEN - An Aiken private school and Richmond County art teacher is facing charges related to the alleged kissing of two female pupils during private tutoring sessions, authorities say. Joel Lynn Bedenbaugh, 44, of the 400 block of Banks Mill Road in Aiken, was charged with two counts of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature Friday.

WE THINK THE former Aiken teacher who was charged and convicted of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature was railroaded through the plea-bargain system. It's shocking the judge even accepted his plea when the allegation was just a kiss. We thought that some kind of violent injury was supposed to have occurred for an assault and battery conviction. A HUGE RANT to the monsters that staged those dog fights. Put those two into a cage and let them fight each other to the end. Sure would save the taxpayers a lot of money.

AIKEN - A 63-year-old Aiken man pleaded guilty Tuesday to sexually abusing a mentally deficient teenager who was friends with his disabled daughter. Louis John Coppola, of the 1100 block of Banksmill Road, pleaded guilty to criminal sexual conduct in the third degree and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.
