  • Word is rapper Mystikal has finally been released from prison. The emcee was incarcerated on sexual assault and battery charges after serving a six-year sentence. The rapper called into his hometown radio stations and stated, "It was tough," but he's glad to be out. He added: "It's gon be the beginning for me and I'm finally gonna get my reparations. A radio interviewer had asked what she dreamed for in 2010, and suggested, "What about a ring?" She said yes, a Super Bowl ring for [Reggie Bush]. They said that if he gets a Super Bowl ring, [Kim Kardashian] gets an engagement ring and she said: "OK, deal." The emcee was incarcerated on sexual assault and battery charges after serving a six-year sentence.

  • WINFIELD - A Hurricane woman who shot her ex-boyfriend in front of their young daughter in 2010 was given 10 years of home confinement in Putnam County Circuit Court on Friday. Elizabeth Glover, 32, pleaded guilty to felony malicious assault and wanton endangerment and misdemeanor domestic battery charges in a deal with prosecutors last year, according to Putnam assistant prosecutor Kristina Raynes.

  • A county prosecutor in Cincinnati reportedly is trying to decide if it would be appropriate to file criminal charges against some participants in the melee that erupted several seconds before the end of a basketball game Saturday between the University of Cincinnati and Xavier University. We've no doubt an able prosecutor could make a case for criminal charges -- assault and battery, and disorderly conduct appear to be under consideration -- but don't think they should be filed in this case.

  • FALL RIVER, Mass. | A former Massachusetts dentist was sentenced to one year in jail Monday for using paper clips instead of stainless steel posts in root canals. Dr. Michael Clair pleaded guilty earlier this month to a list of charges, including assault and battery, defrauding Medicaid of $130,000, illegally prescribing medications and witness intimidation. Prosecutors asked for five to seven years.

  • The mother of Terrell Suggs' children has filed a $70 million lawsuit against the Baltimore Ravens' star linebacker on alleged assault and battery charges. Candace Williams is seeking $20 million in compensatory damages and $50 million in punitive damages stemming from two alleged incidents last month, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in Baltimore County Circuit Court. She is also seeking full custody of their two children as well as child support from Suggs in a separate action, also filed Tuesday in Towson.

  • PETERSBURG - A man that led police on a high-speed pursuit with three children in the vehicle pleaded guilty to all six charges against him. Glenn Fuselier Jr., 19, pleaded guilty to felony charges of assault and battery, eluding police, destruction of property and three charges of child endangerment. Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Cheryl Wilson said his pleas were part of a plea agreement.

  • Hearns accused of assaulting son SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Former boxing champion Thomas "Hitman" Hearns has been accused of striking his son during an argument, and faces misdemeanor assault and battery charges.

  • Dorothea Collier, 48, who is also a Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office corrections deputy, was arrested Monday, Dec. 7 and charged with false imprisonment, aggravated assault and battery. The charges stem from a Nov. 2 incident in which investigators say Collier came home and caught a 19-year-old man and her 20-year-old daughter having sex. Collier was in full uniform when she allegedly punched the man numerous times and ordered him to his knees. She handcuffed the man and held him at gunpoint, prosecutors say. Collier's daughter, begged her not to shoot her boyfriend. Collier called her husband to the home, investigators say, and the husband hit his daughter and the boyfriend before ordering them to get dressed. He then ordered the boyfriend to leave.   • DODGEVILLE, Wis. - A former teacher and coach in the Highland School District is making his initial appearance at 9 a.m. today in Iowa County Circuit Court on several charges, including sexual assault. Joel G. Oleson, 37, of Highland, is charged with sexual assault of a student by a member of a school staff, false imprisonment, unlawful phone use-harassment with obscenity, disorderly conduct and battery. Sexual assault and false imprisonment are felony charges.

  • sports kicker logo Two former New York Yankees accused of attacking a Fenway Park groundskeeper after he cheered for Boston in the visitors' bullpen during last year's playoffs accepted a deal Tuesday that could lead to the charges being dropped. Pitcher Jeff Nelson and outfielder Karim Garcia agreed to six months of pretrial probation during a hearing in Roxbury (Mass.) District court on Tuesday, the day the trial was set to begin. The agreement calls for the players to perform 50 hours of community service and be evaluated for possible anger management counseling. If the players complete the requirements, the assault and battery charges will be dismissed.
