  • While California schools are slashing funding for their arts programs amid budget shortfalls, nearly 20 local institutions have joined a county arts initiative to help them retain and enhance arts- based learning. Several school districts in the San Gabriel Valley and Whittier areas have joined the Arts for All collaborative, a county program designed to help restore standards-based arts education - including dance, music, theater and visual arts - into the K-12 public school core curriculum.
