Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) downplayed the seriousness of a potential perjury indictment in the CIA leak case as a "technicality" and falsely claimed "there were charges against former President Bill Clinton besides perjury and obstruction of justice" during his 1999 Senate trial on impeachment charges. In fact, just two articles of impeachment against Clinton were approved by the House of Representatives: one for perjury, and the other for obstruction of justice.
