Twenty-two-year-old Joel Cencius both starred in and worked at the Arthritis Foundation's Mystery Ball held Oct. 7 at the Pfister Hotel. Cencius, a senior at Cardinal Stritch University, spent most of the evening working as a volunteer at the event. But when dinner was finished, he came to the podium to tell guests what it's like to live with juvenile arthritis, a disease he has had since early childhood. Although the disease is manageable with the right drugs, Cencius says that the energy-sapping side effects are possibly the worst part of having arthritis.
