WASHINGTON - An arrest warrant was issued Tuesday for an imprisoned Salvadoran immigrant in the killing of federal intern Chandra Levy, nearly eight years after the case captivated the country and ended the career of a congressman.
The warrant accuses Ingmar Guandique (gwan-DEE'-kay) of killing Levy on May 1, 2001, as she jogged through Washington's Rock Creek Park. Guandique, 27, is already serving time in a federal prison in Adelanto, Calif., for attacking two women in the same park in the weeks after Levy's disappearance.

DAYTON -- The search of Charles McDaniel's home yielded plenty of evidence against the felon: baggies of heroin, guns, bullets. The search led to a multiple-count indictment in U.S. District Court.
But on Friday, June 26, federal authorities found out how much of that evidence they could use in court: none.

Just weeks after the revelation that a mishandled burglary prosecution might have enabled the July slaying of Frank Moore II as he checked his neighbor's home, Milwaukee County Courthouse bureaucracy stalled an arrest warrant for another man until after, prosecutors say, he committed murder.
A woman told police Julius M. King, 22, pointed a shotgun at her and threatened to kill her Aug. 11, but the misdemeanor charge filed against him in that case four days later didn't result in a warrant until Sept. 11 - four days after King's arrest in the Aug. 26 shooting death of Fabian Binns.

ST. GEORGE -- An arrest warrant issued for Allen Steed, who was charged with one first-degree felony count of rape after testifying on behalf of polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs, should be rescinded, according to a motion filed in 5th District Court Friday.
Steed's attorney, Jim Bradshaw, also filed a motion for Steed to be released on his own recognizance or be allowed a reduced bail amount of a $500 bond. Bail now stands at $50,000 cash only. A bail hearing is scheduled for Oct. 4 at 9 a.m. before Judge G. Rand Beacham.
