No arrest has been made in relation to a Saturday-night drive-by shooting in central Columbia. Columbia police Sgt. Jill Wieneke said police have yet to develop a suspect responsible for the 7:30 p.m. shooting outside Midwest Petroleum, 1202 Business Loop 70 E. A 28-year-old man was shot in the upper arm.
COLONIAL HEIGHTS -- The arrest Saturday of a Powhatan County man who was portraying Santa Claus at Southpark Mall has undoubtedly startled many parents. Some who were visiting the mall last night, though, said they wouldn't let it ruin their holiday spirit.
Police said they arrested a New Kensington man on charges of shooting another man in the thigh Saturday evening. New Kensington police said they charged Richard Tihey, 51, of New Kensington with aggravated assault, adding that more charges are possible.

POMONA - For the past five months, Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center has been administering therapeutic hypothermia to some patients who have suffered cardiac arrest. MARIETTA: Jesus A. Rivera, 23, of 21 E. Market St., Marietta, was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and resisting arrest after holding a knife against a woman and threatening to kill her during a domestic disturbance Saturday. WILTON -- Lawrence E. Dwight Jr., who serves on Maine's Consensus Economic Forecasting Commission, is resigning his post following his arrest Saturday on a charge of domestic assault. Dwight, 54, better known as J Dwight, a political activist and investment adviser, was arrested at his Wilton home after an incident involving his wife.
