The financial firm Friedman Billings Ramsey Group last week said it would sell off a stake in its investment banking, institutional brokerage and asset management business valued at about $400 million.
The Arlington-based company said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing that it plans to merge the business lines into a new subsidiary it is forming called FBR Capital Markets Corp.

ARLINGTON, Va. Mills Corp., the lead developer of the Meadowlands Xanadu project, said a Securities and Exchange Commission probe is now formal and that it will continue to cooperate with the investigation.

David N. Siegel received a $4.7 million payout from US Airways when he resigned in April after two turbulent years as its chief executive, according to documents the embattled Arlington airline filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission last month.

ARLINGTON, Va. (HedgeWorld.com) - Friedman, Billings, Ramsey Group Inc. said in its quarterly filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it plans to liquidate three of its hedge funds by Sept. 30.
The firm did not name the funds, and a spokeswoman said the FBR had no comment on the filing at this time.
