  • State lawmakers need to come up with about $153 million to fully restore the ailing Capitol building, the state's architect said Tuesday. Speaking at an interim meeting of the House of Representatives' Appropriations and Budget Committee, Duane Mass, the Capitol's architect and curator, said the building continues to deteriorate. The building's most pressing problem is its exterior, Mass told lawmakers.
