Toll-free call helps pop poachers Each year, the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks natural resource officers (NROs) check approximately 60,000 hunters in the field, and about 96 percent of these are found to be law-abiding sportsmen and women. The vast majority of hunters are ethical, but they have to deal with the actions of that small percentage who are not. A North Huntingdon man received permission from the township to operate a home business in which he will make and repair hunting and archery supplies, and allow customers to order firearms from a catalog. The zoning hearing board agreed Tuesday night to give David Klipa of Patton Drive a special exception from the zoning ordinance to operate the part-time business.
