• Salem Apprenticeship Training Center to Get $7 Million Upgrade

A 30-year-old apprenticeship training center for heavy equipment operators and mechanics from Ohio and Pennsylvania will undergo a $7 million upgrade. Westmoreland County Commissioners on Thursday unanimously approved acting as the government facilitator on two grant applications from the Western Pennsylvania Operating Engineers Joint Apprenticeship and Training Program for its training facility off Route 22 in Salem near New Alexandria.
