Cuivre River Electric Cooperative recently honored two retirees and 26 current employees for their years of service. Harry Jones retired after 36 years of service and held a variety of jobs from apprentice lineman to service planning technician. Doug Thompson worked for the cooperative for 33 years before retiring. He began working as a journeyman lineman and rose to the position of operations supervisor.

Roy Bernard, 62, is a second-generation lineman with 44 years of experience. He started out as an apprentice lineman in Michigan in 1966. He built large, high-tension power lines around the country until 1974, when he, his wife and two daughters moved to Arizona. HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Jon Odom was an apprentice at an Arkansas electric cooperative, on his way to becoming a full-fledged lineman within several years, when he left to go to college.
