The Buffalo Niagara region is one of the Top 10 "real estate markets to watch" this year, according to a new report by a national research and information service focused on real estate. Inman News of Alameda, Calif., ranked the Western New York market as one of the "fast-rising real estate markets" nationwide, according to a report on the firm's website. These are housing markets that "are showing signs of strength and may outperform other housing markets in 2011," the report said.
Does your little one know the alphabet? If your child doesn't, several books can help. Let's begin with the picture books geared towards young children. "Alphabet Animals: A Slide-and-Peek Adventure" by Suse MacDonald is an innovative book that teaches each letter by using an animal. To learn the letter along with the name of each animal, you just slide the hidden page out. Scholastic's "Little Scholastic" series are books that are geared for babies and toddlers. "Alphabet" by Justine Smith and illustrated by Fiona Land is a small and colorful board book that youngsters can touch and feel as they learn.
The are many area churches having 9/11 remembrance services on Sunday. Among them are: - Chester United Methodist Church, 12132 Percival St., Chester, will host its Community Day of Service to remember the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Church members will be visiting and presenting food gifts and notes of appreciation to multiple fire houses, police stations, rescue squads in the community, and local families of active duty military servicemen and women. Also, church members and friends will be sharing at the McGuire Veterans Hospital in Richmond and with Fort Lee military personnel and their families. This will take place from 8:30-10:30 a.m. followed by a grand celebration at 11 a.m. in the CUMC sanctuary.
