Dear parents,
I didn't have time to get to know you much, but I had quite a bit in common with you -- namely, your daughter. Now that our season is over, I just wanted to thank you for allowing me the privilege to borrow your most prized possession the past few months.

BANANA PUDDIN' JAZZ" JAMS AT INDY FEST AND NUYORICAN CAFE: On July 7, to be exact, [Rome Neal]'s popular Banana Puddin' Jazz Fest made personal history by being performed twice in the same day. The first was in the afternoon at the International African Arts Festival in Brooklyn, located just two blocks from Neal's home. During his career as a police officer Alberto G. Puente became known for his keen observation skills, persistence and methodical approach which led to arrests that may not have otherwise been made. In his early years as a police officer he was assigned to the Border Inspection Station in San Ysidro. While there, he developed a positive rapport with Mexican Government officials. This was during a time when there were few bilingual and bicultural police officers. Mr. Puente's fluency in both Spanish and English and with Mexican culture was recognized as a much needed and valued asset to the San Diego Police Department.
