WASHINGTON, April 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The government of the District of Columbia has awarded a certificate of appreciation to Regina Griggs, executive director of Parents and Friends of Ex- Gays & Gays (PFOX). The certificate, signed by D.C. mayor Adrian Fenty, recognizes Griggs for her "dedication, commitment, and outstanding contributions as Executive Director of Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays.
Regina's award is well-deserved," said Greg Quinlan, President of Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays. PFOX presented the award to Griggs last week in honor of her ten years of volunteer service to parents and the ex-gay community.

Grange Month
AUBURN -- Danville Junction Grange 65 will hold their annual Open Meeting in conjunction with Grange Month on Thursday, April 14. Dessert will be served at 6 p.m., and the meeting will begin at 7. State Master James Owens will be present to award membership certificates to some longtime members. An appreciation certificate will be presented to one of our members.

Charleston City Council honored 18 members of the fire department and one police officer for their bravery and quick thinking in responding to an East End house fire earlier this month that claimed the life of a toddler and seriously injured four other people.
The first responders each received a certificate of appreciation for their efforts to save four children and one adult who were trapped inside the house at 1527 Jackson St., where authorities believe someone intentionally set a fire in the early morning hours of Aug. 1.

Redlands East Valley High School's Advanced Women's Ensemble and East Valley Singers, directed by Rita Stevens, recently took a six- day tour of Oahu, Hawaii.
They performed many times on the trip, including on the USS Missouri, where they sang several pieces including the national anthem. They sang near the site where the peace treaty was signed with Japan. After their performance, they were presented a certificate of appreciation from the U.S. Navy and a U.S. flag that had flown on the USS Missouri.

Eleven members of the DeSoto Civic Garden Club attended the Hills and Delta District meeting that was held June 15, at the Presbyterian Church in Grenada, Miss.
A highlight of the meeting for the club was to receive a certificate in appreciation for Special Achievement that was presented from the National Garden Clubs, Inc. The certificate was given in appreciation for the Garden Information Center that the club compiled during the past year.
