  • Q: OK, enough is enough! This week alone, I received 10 unsolicited mailings from religious organizations asking for donations. Along with these requests have come tokens of appreciation in advance for my response -- things like rosary beads, medals, prayer cards, necklaces, address labels, holiday cards, etc. In the past, I've sent off a check when I could afford it, or if I specifically liked and planned to use a token. However, now I'm retired and it's gotten too cumbersome to keep all the items these organizations send. Also, should I really send a check each time I use something (how many address labels do you need, especially now with e-mail?).
