I had the opportunity to speak at a recent San Bernardino school board meeting in opposition to the raises given to Mr. Albiso and Mr. Peukert. Board members Parra and Bray were respectful in stating that they felt the decision saved the district nearly $85,000. I respectfully disagree, but at least they were civil. The attacks by other board members were incredible.
It's not just Tom DeLay who could use a brushup course in integrity. Avoid every appearance of evil.

The Salt Lake City Council tonight could toughen its conflict-of- interest rules. Council members say no one has done anything wrong - - but they want to avoid the appearance of evil.
