Apathy, ignorance keep Memphis down My family moved to Memphis in 2000. After a brief residence in Cordova, we settled in Midtown. Since 2003, our home has been burglarized once, our cars have been broken into twice, and my business has been burglarized once. The last car break-in occurred in broad daylight on a busy street, and I happened upon the burglars, who were driving a shiny new Cadillac Eldorado. I was very hopeful that Memphians would be so fed up that they would vote for change.
Starting today Since ignorance is not a defense, Tennesseans would be well served to read up on the new laws affecting them. Here is a summary of some of the legislation taking effect today.

While I love and respect both parties, the Democratic Party and the Republican Party have been historically willing to follow the long patter of using the African American as a political football.
