She'd say the large range of percussion and elastic beats infuse a shot of rhythm into her already eclectic and kooky sound. So fans who were turned off by the vocals-only warble of 2004's "Medulla," should feel right back at home with "Volta," a 10-song disc that straddles the line between robust and bland.
