LONDON, June 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Commonwealth Secretary- General Kamalesh Sharma will lay particular stress on youth employment, underachievement by boys and strengthening economic resilience during his six-day trip to the Caribbean region, 12-17 June 2011.
Mr Sharma is scheduled to visit Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Jamaica, and St Vincent and the Grenadines. He will meet Heads of Government, ministers, Speakers and Leaders of the Opposition.

An Antigua and Barbuda government statement issued here said this year's G24 meeting is taking place against a backdrop of "unusual uncertainties surrounding global economic and financial market prospects and challenges facing the world economy, which are of a global nature, requiring strong action and close cooperation among the group's membership".

ANTIGUA AND Barbuda's Minister of Tourism & Civil Aviation, Harold E. Lovell, says the government has in recent times been taking an integrative approach to tourism. The country now brands itself as a mid-to-up-market destination giving visitors 'value for their dollar'. His ministry's focus on the sector is in three areas: Investment product development and marketing, with an aggressive move to improve heritage sites, develop facilities at beach-driven destinations, and signage.
