Fritz Kiersch, who has directed such movies as Stephen's King's Children of the Corn, Into the Sun starring Anthony Michael Hall and the 1990s television series Swamp Thing, will head up the new film department at Oklahoma City University. Classes are expected to begin in January.
Kiersch spent the last five years as the film and video production program director at Oklahoma City Community College. In his first year at OKCCC, Kiersch taught 20 students. Now the school offers 20 classes to the 100 students majoring in film and video production.

'Breakfast' reunion
The Breakfast Club" detention crowd is reuniting at the 2005 MTV Movie Awards, to air June 9. Though Emilio Estevez, who played Andrew Clark in the 1985 film about five teens, isn't confirmed, in attendance will be Molly Ringwald (Claire Standish), Ally Sheedy (Allison Reynolds), Anthony Michael Hall (Brian Johnson) and Judd Nelson (John Bender).
