Mrs. , affectionately known as "Aunt Belle," of 959 Old Wythe St., Petersburg, departed this life on July 14, 2006, at the Albany Medical Center in New York. Isabelle was born on Sept. 22, 1920, to the late William and Lizzie Tucker of Dinwiddie County. After the death of her mother, she was reared by her sister, Corine T. Allen. Isabelle was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church, Petersburg. She had a green thumb and loved her gospel music. Isabelle was a devoted mother and grandmother to her family. She enjoyed browsing through her family albums with her many stories. Whenever we looked at all the family pictures there was much laughter and joy as if this was the first time visiting those timeless events. How are the students of Granite High supposed to do any extracurricular activities? Granite High is a low-income area, and sending them off to schools outside their area will make it so parents will have to drive their children to and from activities. In failing to promptly disburse money from student loans, it seems little has changed in the administration's concern for the welfare of its students. I recall living on a tight budget as a student.
