City police are battling an increase in street robberies, one of which resulted in the overnight arrest of three allegedly armed teenagers, police said Tuesday. Police spokesman Officer Angelo Moscato said a detailed complaint by the victim and observant police work resulted in the swift arrest of three West Haven residents, one accused of displaying a loaded handgun out the window of a sports utility vehicle while the others exited the vehicle and rifled through the victim's pockets late Monday.
As a result, police arrested an unidentified 16-year-old, as well as Andre L. Williams, 19, of 11 Timberland Ave. and Barry D. White, 18, of 295 Elm St., Apt. A5, and charged each with first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor veh...
