Attention outdoor enthusiasts, Five Rivers MetroParks has once again joined forces with Wright State University to present Adventure Summit, a two-day exposition dedicated to vibrant lifestyles, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 10-11, in te WSU Student Union, Fairborn. The event, from 4 to 11:30 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, will include speakers, fitness sessions and activities such as a canoe battleship competition, an indoor duathlon and a kayak challenge. A Tdap booster is now a state requirement for starting sixth grade. Public and private schools must be provided with proof of the immunization whether it was done last year, last week or you hope to get it done before this weekend at the local health department or your family physician. Tdap is the common term for a combined tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis immunization, although it also might be listed as T, Td or Dtap. If you plan to visit Suffolk's Health Department for a free immunization, the hours are 1 to 3 p.m. today and Thursday. WINFIELD - Putnam County commissioners said Tuesday they'll take legal action over the state House of Delegates redistricting process if delegates don't fix problems during their special session later this week.

LOS ANGELES - Keith Andes, a handsome, New Jersey-born actor who was Marilyn Monroe's leading man in the 1952 film "Clash by Night," has died at the age of 85.
Mr. Andes, who had suffered from bladder cancer and other ailments, was found dead Nov. 11 in his Santa Clarita, Calif., home, said longtime friend Marshall LaPlante. The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office ruled the death a suicide by asphyxiation.

WINFIELD - The Putnam County Commission is awaiting a recommendation from the county fire board before acting on a proposed increase in the fire service fee.
An Oct. 13 public meeting on the fee increase drew about 200 people, and there appeared to be equal numbers of supporters and opponents, commissioner Steve Andes said at a Tuesday commission meeting.

Since his retirement, Earl "Doc" Andes, a former doctor of internal medicine at Welborn Clinic, has been able to devote time to a hobby he began almost by accident some 40 years ago.
Andes, a spry 92 years old and a resident at Holiday Village Independent and Assisted Living on Evansville's North Side, devotes much of his time to creating needlepoint, cross-stitch and other fabric art.
