A soldier from Fair Lawn was killed in a traffic accident in Indiana over the weekend, and a soldier from Monmouth County died on Thanksgiving from a non-combat-related illness that was diagnosed in Iraq.
Anand B. Sharma, 23, of Fair Lawn was riding in a Chevrolet TrailBlazer with two other soldiers from Fort Bragg, N.C., early Saturday when the sport utility vehicle went off the roadway on State Road 9, north of Alexandria, Ind., the Madison County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.
