WASHINGTON, Jan. 25 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Navalog, a weekly publication of Naval Station Newport in Newport, Rhode Island, has refused a Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) ad from Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN) despite having previously published CFC ads from conservative organizations American Family Association (AFA) and Focus on the Family.
The publication's November 11, 2005 issue included an AFA ad. Upon inquiry, SLDN was initially informed, on January 5th, that Navalog accepted CFC advertising for publication on a "space available" basis. SLDN then submitted its 2005 CFC campaign ad, featuring veterans discharged under the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law, for inclusion in future issues of the publication.
