William Etges, professor of biology at the University of Arkansas, examined how shifts in ambient temperature affect altitudinal clines and chromosomal arrangements in flies in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.2 Using fly data stemming back to the 1950s, Etges showed that since the 1980s, chromosomal arrangement frequencies have been shifting in step with warming temperatures from the base to the top of mountains. A group of researchers in Spain, led by Luis Serra, have shown that gene arrangements in flies have shifted with elevated global temperatures in North America, South America, and Europe.3 Studies on birds, plants, and mammals have all shown that these creatures show some genetic change as global temperatures warm.

TO celebrate Mitsubishi Electric's 90th anniversary and create a better tomorrow, Mitsubishi Electric has specially launched a campaign called `eco changes-for a better tomorrow'.
The new GF series air-conditioners now come with a self-cleaning system, lowering maintenance cost. These are offered in models ranging between 1hp to 3hp. Ambient temperature indoors is comfortably cool when using the 2.5hp to 3hp machines as the scope of wind is increased to 12 meters. Besides that, the GF series air- conditioners also have Nano-titanium filters which have antibacterial and odour removing properties.

CLINTON - DeWitt County Board members won't mind if it gets a little windy in DeWitt County over the next two to three years.
That's because county officials are paving the way for construction of a meteorological tower to test the speed, direction and ambient temperature of the wind in northeastern DeWitt County. The data would help developers decide if the county is a good site for a wind farm.

In a properly inflated tire, the valve connects both intake and outlet of the tubing with the inside space of the tire (left). When the tire pressure falls below its optimal level, the pressure management device closes the intake from the tire and instantly creates a vacuum at the intake part of the tubing. This vacuum opens the check valve and the tube starts pulling air from the outside atmosphere into the tubing and subsequently into the tire (right).
So what makes it so difficult to keep tire pressure consistent? According to tire industry data, 85 percent of all tire air pressure losses are the result of slow leaks that occur over a period of hours, days or months. Tires typically lose air pressure through natural leakage or permeation at a rate of about 1 psi per month. In additio...
