United Way honored 16 campaign ambassadors on Tuesday morning with a breakfast and recognition ceremony at the Ramada Hotel and Convention Center, 420 S.E. 6th.
The presentation celebrated the service the ambassadors gave to United Way during its annual fundraising campaign by representing the organization in the community. The ambassadors either were employed with or were sponsored by businesses or agencies located in Topeka.

This summer, 24 Mid-South area students traveled on a 19-day educational trip to the United Kingdom, visiting England, Wales, Northern Ireland, The Republic of Ireland and Scotland, with the People to People Student Ambassador Program, "Celtic Cultures.
There were student ambassadors from all over the Mid-South. Local student ambassadors were from Memphis, Arlington, Bolivar, Brownsville, Cordova, Collierville, Germantown, Lakeland and Millington. From Mississippi, student ambassadors on the trip represented Holly Springs, Olive Branch, Southaven and Sardis. These students were joined by People to People delegations from Jackson, Tenn., and St. Louis .
