She approached one of the casino's cashiers, who, when Mrs. Martinez opened her purse to withdraw a note she had written demanding money, noticed the gun nestled inside.2 Soon thereafter, Mrs. Martinez walked out of the casino with $7100 cash.3 In all her years before, Mrs. Martinez had never committed a single offense.4
