West Penn Allegheny Health System has merged the cardiothoracic surgery programs at its two flagship hospitals in what could be the first of several key changes at the region's second-largest hospital network. The programs at Allegheny General Hospital and West Penn Hospital will be led by Dr. George J. Magovern Jr., who is based at AGH's North Side campus.
